Node based Material Generation Tool

Created a node based material editor for our professor’s engine in Game Engine Tools Development.


  1. Assign a material to a mesh object based on generated shader from the node editor
  2. Specify gameplay specific parameter for the material
  3. Different mesh instances can have different mesh tools
  4. Supported Diffuse, Specular, Normals and Glow color

Things to Improve:

  1. More user-friendly features like node search, context based node search
  2. More complicated nodes
  3. More terms in the output in our uber shader such as ambient occlusion, world space offset, transparency.
  4. Support for multiple graphics API
